About us

The Grandmothers' Project NW (TGP-NW) is part of a focused, grassroots effort to facilitate the gathering and dissemination of female elder wisdom on an annual or bi-annual basis. It is proposed that the next gathering be in New Zealand.

In June of 2003 seven specific grandmothers met for the first time at a public event held at Whidbey Institute in Washington State. From the friendships made came the intent to support each other especially when concerning youth and members of their respective communities.
